Some notes on honey:
Honey is a well-known cough and cold remedy that helps to soothe sore throats. When combined with apple cider, lemon, or whiskey, it can be more effective than some over-the-counter drugs.
Honey’s lack of water and its natural hydrogen peroxide content give it an eternal shelf life.
Because of honey’s antibacterial properties, it is effective in treating all types of wounds. It rapidly helps to clean dead tissue, suppress inflammation, and kill bacteria.
Propolis, the evergreen and poplar tree resin collected by bees to reinforce the hive can be used by humans to fight off unwanted bacteria, viruses, and fungi such as cold sores, canker sores, sore throat, and even eczema.
Local honey contains a small amount of the same pollen spores that cause seasonal allergies. By introducing them into the body, the body becomes accustomed to their presence and decreases the chance of an immune system response.
