More than 1000 official reports of UFO sightings are made in New Mexico every year.

The state is larger than Italy, New Zealand, and Great Britain, but has a population about the same as Dublin.

Santa Fe is bot the oldest and highest-elevation capital city in the United States. It was founded by the Spanish in 1610 and is about 2000ft. higher than “Mile High” Denver. 

New Mexico has its own very distinctive Spanish dialect. 

Albuquerque hosts the largest hot air balloon festival in the world every October.

The town of Hot Springs officially changed its name to Truth or Consequences in 1950 to win a gameshow contest.

The state’s unique northern landscapes were the main muse of Georgia O’Keeffe, the “Mother of American Modernism.”
